What does becoming pre-qualified in the MAPP afford you?
Becoming pre-qualified in this process will allow the candidate to apply at any participating agency. Once the participating agencies announce their individual hiring process periods, you will be contacted at that point to make application with that particular fire agency. You will be notified of the dates through electronic mail and this site will be updated as positions become available.
How long is the MAPP list valid?
The MAPP is valid for a period of 365 calendar days (1 year). The MAPP list will become official once all candidates have finished their portions of the process and the list is certified. You will be notified of the date through electronic mail.
How do I begin the MAPP?
To get a better understanding of the magnitude of this process, take time to research the participating fire agencies and their history. Many of the participating fire agencies are very competitive with one another as far as salaries, benefits and training/promotional opportunities.
- Complete the on-line form in its entirety. You may update your application at anytime through out the MAPP and after the list has been made official by e-mailing all updates.
- Sit for the exam on July 25, 2008 being held in Austin, Texas.

You’re Done! When participating fire agencies are hiring you will be contacted.
