Central Texas MAPP
Welcome to the Central Texas Multi Agency Prequalification Process (MAPP). MAPP will allow future Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician candidates to become pre-qualified in the Central Texas area and streamline the initial entry level written examination and physical agility testing portions of each participating agency’s hiring process.
How Does the MAPP Work?
MAPP is designed to offer eligible candidates an opportunity to become pre-qualified to apply for professional firefighter positions that become available through out a one-year period. Instead of taking multiple entry-level written examinations and physical agility tests, candidates are only required to pass a written examination and physical agility test once for the entire year - it couldn’t be easier!
How do I start the MAPP?
- Complete the on-line application portion of the MAPP
- Pass the entry-level written examination on Friday July 25, 2008
- Pass the entry-level physical agility test (PAT). MAPP physical agility test dates and times will be scheduled between Saturday - Monday July 26 – 28, 2008
- Make application to one or all of the participating fire agencies when they announce their individual hiring processes. Once you are pre-qualified, fire agencies will contact you when they are hiring.
The rest is up to you! Typically, you will only be required to complete a few remaining portions of a hiring process such as interviews, medical screenings, skills verification and background checks.
Is MAPP a ranking?
The MAPP is a pre-qualifier, not a ranked list. The MAPP will provide participating fire agencies with a large pool of candidates that have successfully completed both the written examination and physical agility test. MAPP written examination scores may be used to establish a ranking within an individual fire agency’s process.
